Amazing journey you have both had. I have been watching many of your videos. I had been visiting Charlotte Harbour for the last 5 years and kayak fished the areas of Matlacha. Thanks for some of the tips I picked up from you guys. Being a bass and Walleye guy from Canada I fell in love with salt water. First Snook came at Boca Grande beach and first Redfish at 28.5” came near Englewood. Recently my partners family sold their condo in Port Charlotte so my trips to beautiful Florida have ended. Sad day as I’m approaching retirement. I very much hope to be able to visit Florida again to fish the gulf coast. Keep up the great work guys and love my BG MQ. Expensive in Canada but lighter then my reg BG 3000

Thanks so much for posting the nice comment Tim! So glad to see that you enjoyed the recent trip to Sarasota.

The Matlacha Pass zone is a great area, so lots of options there. Both directions along that shoreline look very promising… since you’ll be paddle fishing, I recommend going either north or south based on the wind. Go into the wind so that you can more easily make it back after fishing. And focus on the points and any other zone you see that’s holding some baitfish and/or jumping mullet.

I just watched you video of fishing for slams in Sarasota Bay; you were fishing the shore line where my deceased parents used to live…it brought a smile to my face and brought back many great memories.

I am going to Matlacha, FL for my third trip in the last year and was curious if anything caught your eye and peaked your interest in the satellite imagery.

I’m stocked up on Bombers & 2.0s and super psyched to get on the water.

For a starting point, I launch out of the backyard of 4756 Pine Island Rd NW, Matlacha, FL

Keep up the great work…I think you have a real gift for teaching people with your love of fishing and clear & concise instruction.

Be safe & healthy,

Tim Miles

Thanks for the interest in hiring me as a guide! That is a service that I do not offer… with the level of detail you’ll get as an Insider Club member, you will nit need a guide to go out and catch fish.

Mangrove snapper, Spanish mackerel, and sheepshead are three species that taste great and are easily accessible in those months.

Perfect!! I’ll give Gasparilla marina a call. I’ll definitely get signed up soon to the insider club!! Do you ever do charters? I would pay you to take me out the fist day if your available? One more question, I noticed you can’t keep Red fish, Snook or Trout in that area. Is there a type of fish to target late March early April that you can keep that is good to eat?

Hey Matt, thanks for showing interest in the Insider Club! I am very familiar with the Cape Haze area (I was actually down there yesterday – Little Gasparilla Island). You can rent boats at the Gasparilla Marina, and you’ll see the strategies to use for catching fish while down there from our Insider Club platform because the strategies work for all areas that have redfish, seatrout, snook, & flounder. And you’ll have an added bonus since many of the example reports were filmed from that area. Here’s where you can learn more and join: https://www.saltstrong.com/pricing/

We’re planning a family vacation near Cape Haze area. I’m thinking about joining the Salt Strong club, but curious if your familiar with the Cape Haze area? I’m thinking about renting a boat while we’re there, but looking for pointers and areas to look for. If I join the group, would there be some info I could get for fishing that area?

I really enjoyed my time up in Rochester… super nice people and it was cool to have an opportunity to live in a place where nothing shuts down even after 10+ inches of snow dumps down:)

Glad to see that you’re enjoying Melbourne. I am itching to make a trip over that way sometime soon to visit friends as well as some Indian River fish that I haven’t seen in a while.
