so, rigged with no weight? Just a worm hook?
Yep! You could use a hook with a very light weight if needed to keep the lure from flipping upside down.
Yea Tony I know all about using frogs for reds well not really I just saw about 3 weeks ago Matt doing a video about the zman goat toad z and before that on the redfish mastery coarse Luke did some demo on the zoom horny toad and while I did order some zman goat toad z from zman I also ordered more of there spinnerbaits that I like better then the strike king redfish magic spinnerbaits the wire frame on the zman is much thinner then the redfish magics giving them more vibration that you can really feel but I use a baitcasting combo for this spinning reels don’t seem to be designed for spinnerbaits but as far as frog lured go my order for the zman frogs will be here mon but I bought the zoom horny toads when I saw Luke talking about them on his redfish coarse a few years ago tried them a little with no luck but I’ll keep trying because you never know anyways thanks for the info and all you do😉👍
The type of area and the conditions are key for them to work from what I have found. Grass is key, whether it be submerged, floating, or the tall marsh grass (working the edges and points)
Yea its kinda funny because frogs do live in the grass but I have never seen any in saltwater before but maybe they are there otherwise what would a red think that the frog is because it really doesn’t look at all like any baitdish or crustacean for that matter but maybe just like a freshwater largemouth bass a red will hit anything that has some kind of action or movement in fact the very first 2 redfish I ever caught were on a culprit red shad colored plastic worm rigged Texas style because I was fishing for largemouth in pottsburg creek a tidal brackish water creek here in jacksonville that connects to the st johns river I was pitching the worm under docks and I caught 2 bass and 2 reds all under 1 dock that was located on the creek bend in some deeper water when I caught those reds I had this feeling why do I fish for bass when I can catch reds with the same kind of lured and the reds fight way better then ant bass and are way better eating to and I love fresh fish and being in food service most of my almost 60 years of living on planet earth I know how to cook fish and use quite a few recipes anyways thanks for the reply and all you do😉👍
