On-The-Water Action

We picked up a few cigar minnows using sabiki bait rigs and then moved off to find deeper water.

The strategy was to drop down a bait roughly 4 feet from the bottom and wait for those strikes.

I started off throwing a Power Prawn USA shrimp lure on a Hoss Weedless Football Jighead.

I felt a few solid swipes but nothing took the hook so I switched that out for a cigar minnow on a bottom rig.

After switching to live bait, we hit a few reefs and got on some solid action.

A bit later on, I hooked into something HUGE that would not give me any slack.

It ended up popping off but I was prepared with pre-tied double snell rigs I prepped the night before.

A pod of dolphin were swarming around the kayaks hoping to steal our fish before we could land them.

None of this would be possible without the help of Smart Fishing Spots.

It is incredibly easy to find spots just like this filled with tons of BIG fish!

All you need is the Smart Fishing Spots platform.

With the click of a button, all of the artificial reefs in any area pop up on the screen.

This reveals INSTANT HOTSPOTS and ideal locations for nearshore and offshore fishing.

A little while later, I hooked into another giant.

Turns out, it was a GIANT grouper that I brought up to about 5 feet below the surface and it popped off the line.

Special thanks to Brandon Barton at Emerald Waters Kayak Charters in the Pensacola area for taking me on a guided trip out to have an absolutely EPIC trip.
