That’s a great video that I can share with youth in our fishing program Operation WaterWays Environmental Education OPWWEE, they will learn fly tying then fly casting. In May they will hit the water in Md. to catch trout.
Glad that Salt Strong is including fly fishing and fly tying to the offerings. Nice presentation of that fly patters’s tying. It’s an easy one that will work.
Great video. Would like to see more on all aspects of fly fishing in the salt.
Thanks – Nice fly Joe! Looks like it’ll be effective and an easy tie. I’ll give it a try!

Great video! I’m very new to fly fishing and found your video amazing….. You made it look sooo easy….. is there a way to make the fly weedless around the mangroves?
Great work Joseph! Thanks for sharing and thanks to Salt Strong for making this video! Looks like a super soft landing fly for those spooky reds. Would love to see more content for the fly fishermen on here.
So very cool. I used to tie flies as a teen and let life take me away from this hobby. I still have all the equipment and material. Would love to see more of these type of videos. Such a great art form.
Joe this was really neat, I’ve never seen anything like this done before. I have great respect for anyone that can catch a fish with a bug. Even more for a person that can catch a fish with a fake bug. Even more for the person that can make the fake bug that catches fish!! You are really awesome, thank you for sharing this with us!
