I began my inshore fishing journey in April 2015 after I purchased my first kayak.

I had been an avid bass fisherman for as long as I can remember and was looking to expand my fishing knowledge into the saltwater realm.

My first inshore species caught from the kayak were spotted seatrout and I was on a mission to catch redfish, as I had never caught one before.

After about 5 weekends of just about catching my limits of trout, I finally hooked into my first red, and it was a monster!

Being new to inshore and this being the biggest fish I’ve ever caught on basically my old bass fishing gear, she took me for a ride for about 20 minutes till I was blown into an island from the wind and finished the fight from shore. This fish measured 42″ and was the beginning of my inshore kayak fishing addiction.

Shortly after this catch, I found Salt Strong while browsing the Internet, took Luke’s online “Inshore Slammer” course, signed up for the first Strong Angler Challenge (which was for redfish spots), became an Insider Club member, and quickly started catching more and more fish!

Everything took off from that moment forward.

Around November of 2016, the Salt Strong brothers, Joe and Luke, offered to make me a part of their team to help teach America how to fish and I gladly accepted!

Aside from fishing, I have a BS in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida, you can find me in a CrossFit gym just about every day, and music is another hobby of mine as I play guitar and drums.

Fun Fact: I was in a heavy metal band through college.

Every day on the water is a new learning experience and only builds from there.
