Fishing Tackle Buyer Job Opening. Dream Role For One Lucky Angler!

This is the tackle role you have been looking for…

An exciting, fun, challenging, and creative atmosphere to develop your leadership skills and make a massive impact in the fishing world as a Salt Strong Tackle Buyer.

It’s a dream job for anyone who’s ever thought about being the head honcho for all tackle purchasing and inventory management for a living – with great pay, potential for growth, and a chance to show the world how great you are.

Plus, you’ll be working with competitive, intelligent people all committed to uniting friends and families through fishing.

We are a Florida-based fishing company with the largest online saltwater fishing club in America.

We specialize in serving our 50,000+ “Insider” members through fishing education, e-commerce tackle sales, and a family-like community of anglers from all kinds of different skill levels.

We’re looking for a talented tackle guru to manage, grow, and enhance our fishing tackle inventory.

Someone who loves building relationships, forecasting, and trying out new tackle.

Experience in the tackle industry is important – along with creativity, leadership, a strong work ethic, and a talent for simplifying systems and processes.

Unlike most fishing tackle stores, we go very deep into a relatively small amount of SKUs. So the ability to forecast demand based on historical data analysis in our systems as well as in Excel is very important.

Great jobs like this come along once in a lifetime.

Don’t let this one slip by…

This role includes 2 core types of responsibilities as shown below:

Tackle Buying & Inventory Management

  • Responsible for maintaining the supply of tackle inventory to support aggressive growth plans
  • Grow relationships with key suppliers for both retail and custom products
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure we stay fully stocked with needed supplies for delivering expected online orders
  • Maintain and manage spreadsheet showing sales velocity for every SKU
  • Continually build efficiencies in processes for all inventory management activities
  • Manage Inventory count/validation efforts to ensure our database is accurate
  • Assist in creating new custom products that fill gaps in the market

Brand Enhancement

  • Continually go through our online store to make sure it shows products favorably
  • Work with the internal team to get new sales videos as needed
  • Oversee the production of new packaging for custom items as needed

What Success Looks Like:

In the first 90 days, success will be seen by quickly learning the inventory management system and using it to keep inventory levels up to current rates or better (95%+ in stock rate for key products). Also, work with leadership team to maintain the New Products calendar that shows all future new tackle projects with their expected timelines so that the leadership team is always informed about the timeline.

What We Are Offering You:

  • Competitive salary and opportunity for growth
  • 401k matching at 100% for the first 3%
  • Long Term Disability
  • Short Term Disability
  • Life Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • A fun, family-first team

Position Type:

Full-Time Salary Employee

Location: Ideally lives (or wants to live) in Central Florida, but most of the work is remote so location can vary.

Salary Range:

Based on experience
