Head Of Content Needed. Dream Job For One Lucky Angler!

WARNING: Boring “Normal” Content Creators & Strategists Need Not Apply…

Are you looking for something new in 2024?

Perhaps looking to grow… to be part of something BIG… to leave your mark on the world…

Maybe you’re looking for your first real opportunity to be the Head Of Content or “Editor-In-Chief” in a fun and fast-growing company in the fishing space…

Or maybe you’ve been writing and creating content for a while and are looking to work at a place that ignites your passion you’ve always had for the profession.

Maybe you wish you worked at a place where your boss’s ego didn’t smother your creativity… a chance to finally get away from having to do things a certain way because “that’s how we’ve done it here for years…”

Or maybe a place where your content creation could truly help people create amazing experiences out on the water… where you could see your work making an impact in the real world firsthand…

Or perhaps you’re tired of working with boring people whose passion left them a long time ago and you’ve had enough…

If yes, then this letter is for you.

Hi, I’m Joe Simonds, one of the co-founders here at Salt Strong.

Our entire mission boils down to three core concepts:

  • To help fishermen catch more fish in less time
  • To inspire more families and kids to get outside fishing
  • To connect anglers through the the power of an online community

We help fishermen achieve this through exclusive tips, reviews, weekly fishing reports, video content, along with comprehensive fishing courses.

Almost all of it requires top-notch content creation, strategy, and someone who’s not afraid to try new things and think outside the box…

That’s where you come in.

With how fast our fishing community is exploding, we need help on the content creation and STRATEGY side of things (ASAP).

But not just any writer will do…

We are looking for someone with a burning passion for inspiring more people to get outside fishing.

We are looking for someone who goes above and beyond with every project.

We are looking for someone who is super competitive… who wants to win… who works with a sense of urgency…

Finally, we are looking for someone who has experience creating content in the outdoor or fishing space and coming up with a winning STRATEGY.

Does that sound like you?

If so, keep reading.

Before I describe exactly who this important role is for, let me tell you exactly who it’s NOT for…

This role is NOT for you if…

  • You enjoy creating boring content just to fill up a page or get some quick views…
  • You enjoy writing about the exact same thing over and over again…
  • You get more excited about your title than the impact your work makes…
  • You’re an old fart looking for a simple job to coast through retirement…
  • You take yourself so seriously that your waders are in super tight wad just thinking about having to write something funny (like I did above… and just now again…).
  • You enjoy working for a company with little to no job growth opportunities…
  • You’ve never written amazing content before…

Still here?

Ok.

Great.

On the other hand, here’s the PERFECT candidate for this new “Editor-in-Chief” role here at Salt Strong…

This role is for you if…

  • You are a pirate… a rebel… a radical… a RENEGADE… a creative genius longing to make an impact in this world…
  • You are COMPETITIVE
  • You enjoy working for a FAST moving company
  • You work with a sense of URGENCY in all that you do
  • You enjoy NEW OPPORTUNITIES (including getting to work on new and challenging projects all the time)
  • You absolutely LOVE creating content that is engaging and sharable
  • You’ve had prior EXPERIENCE in the publishing or content marketing space
  • You’ve got tons of ENERGY and want to be with a fun company for the long haul…
  • You want to DISRUPT the fishing industry…

You’re still here with me after all that?

Impressive.

We might have a chance together…

If this resonates with you, then consider joining our team.

But please don’t consider this job if you curse like a sailor, routinely gossip, talk poorly of your colleagues, or can’t come to work with a positive outlook every single day.

“I’m interested! What’s next?”

If interested, please do the following:

1) Send a short video about why you might be a good fit and how you can help Salt Strong make an impact in the fishing world to joe@saltstrong.com with the subject line “Head of Content.” Nothing too lengthy, just something to get us started.

2) List links or attach a doc of your top 3-5 best pieces of content that either you created/wrote or managed the people who created/wrote them (the ones you are most proud of – note that these will remain confidential and not be shared). If you don’t have at least three published articles that you can reference, then this particular role is not a fit for you.

Speaking of confidentiality, this email (joe@saltstrong.com) is my private email (it only comes to me) and I promise 100% confidentiality.

The next step (after we receive your email and feel that you could be a great fit) is to set up a phone interview so we can learn about each other, make sure this is a good match for both parties.

We’re based out of Winter Haven, FL but the ideal candidate would be able to work from home.

Also, we’re ready to start when you are.

Listen, where you work speaks volumes about you, so I hope you work at a place that challenges you, is fun and supportive, and helps you grow as an individual.

If you think that might be us, then start by dropping me an email so we can schedule a time to talk.

Tight lines,

Joe Simonds
